I struggle to put in the effort necessary to maintain a friendship long-term and love spending time alone. This guy I’ve been dating for about 2 months has a nice, solid group of friends he’s known for years, and has just introduced them to me. I’m nervous about telling him that I don’t really have anyone to introduce him to. Honestly, it’s good that they do this, because you know right away the level of effort they’re going to put towards dating you. I went out with someone who clearly didn’t put in any effort on his profile, and his lack of effort in dating were matched.

Maybe flaky is not the right word but more like non committal or low effort? I’ve been on Hinge for about a month now and have gotten 11 matches. Of the 11 matches:

• 3 cancelled planned dates the day of with zero interest of rescheduling (they all said they had work). I tried rescheduling with 1 guy but just got left on read.

• 3 I was asked to start the chat which I did and received no response. 2 were generic hey, how’s your night and 1 was a response to a prompt.

• 3 the other person was asked to start the convo but they did not.

• 2 the conversations just fizzled out.

I’ve only been on hookup apps before so I understand those rules. I get that not every conversation is going to turn into something but 0-11 seems pretty shitty. Is this OLD in a nutshell or do I just have shitty luck?
